ABOUT ELCC
•People from all racial backgrounds can be nominated or self- nominated.
•The various nominees are then reviewed & selected by the ELCC board to become part of a class of students.
•This class attends workshops from October through May to enhance their leadership skills, create new networks of support, and to increase their understanding of salient community issues.
Achieving the Mission & Vision
Mission
To provide empowerment through leadership development, providing people of color with the skills necessary to effectively participate in general leadership roles in the community at large, and engage community leaders in the process of cultivating future leaders.
Vision
Creating a curriculum [that] was built to develop some of the typical skills needed to be a good leader: public speaking, group facilitation, conflict resolution, strategic planning, networking, creating social capital and the value of leadership, along with teaching grant writing and implementing a mentoring program.
